How to get FSPDUMP from an HMC following a call home event (possible HW failure) ?

Here we will see how to get FSPDUMP from HMC for a hardware failure event.

I. Problem

IBM instructs you to upload an FSPDUMP from an HMC following a call home event (possible HW failure).

II. Procedure

a. Log on to the relevant HMC GUI.

b. Select the frame, go to Serviceability > Manage Dumps. 

c. You will be presented with a list of available FSPDUMPs.

d. Select the one you need and go Selected (drop down on top) > Copy Dump to Remote System. 

e. Most of the times "Copy Dump to Media" is usually not available. And "Call Home Dump" does not work.
 
For remote server put the name of the server, User ID (root), and password at the usual place.

For directory put whatever you like (I use /tmp/, e.g /tmp/P8). 

Click OK.
