Stop wasting time hunting for the specific child of a runaway process

Use the –forest flag to get a visual hierarchy of your processes. It turns that wall of text into a simple tree structure that actually makes sense to a human eye.

⚙️ Why It Works

Adding that f to your usual ps arguments forces the display to indent child processes under their respective parents using ASCII characters. Seeing the process tree laid out in real-time saves you from playing the guessing game with PIDs and PPIDs.

🚀 Pro-Tip: Pipe it through less -S if you’re working on a wide system or have a nested mess that overflows your terminal width.
