How to enable a repository in Redhat Satellite 6 client host ?
First you need to add the repository in Content View in GUI and then re-publish it to new version.
And then we can enable that particular disabled repository using below commands.
1. Check out all available repos.
It will show all repos including the ones which are disabled.
[root@ngel002 ~]# yum repolist all Loaded plugins: product-id, search-disabled-repos, subscription-manager rhel-6-server-optional-rpms | 2.0 kB 00:00 rhel-6-server-rpms | 2.0 kB 00:00 repo id repo name status SGS_MRG SGS_MRG_Updates disabled rhel-6-server-extras-rpms Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server - Extras (RPMs) disabled rhel-6-server-optional-rpms Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server - Optional (RPMs) enabled: 12,192 rhel-6-server-realtime-rpms MRG Realtime (RPMs) disabled rhel-6-server-rpms Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server (RPMs) enabled: 21,086 rhel-6-server-satellite-tools-6.5-rpms Red Hat Satellite Tools 6.5 (for RHEL 6 Server) (RPMs) disabled rhel-source Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6Server - x86_64 - Source disabled rhel-source-beta Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6Server Beta - x86_64 - Source disabled repolist: 33,278
2. Now enable the required repo.
[root@ngel002 ~]# subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-6-server-realtime-rpms Repository 'rhel-6-server-realtime-rpms' is enabled for this system.
The repository is now enabled, it will show the packages on server from that repo also when we run “yum repolist”.
