Stop ps from hiding the truth about your zombie processes

Dealing with a server where the load average is slowly climbing for no reason, but a quick glance at the process list shows nothing obviously stuck. I spent half a morning once tracing a runaway script only to realize a pile of zombies were actually the ones polluting my process table.
