Meaning of the value stored in /proc/sys/kernel/panic file ?

Today we will look at an interesting topic to understand the meaning of value stored in /proc/sys/kernel/panic file.

I. File Path
/proc/sys/kernel/panic

II. Meaning
The value stored in this file represents number of seconds kernel waits before rebooting the server in case of kernel panic. With software watchdog, recommended setting is 60.

The default value stored in this file is 0 which means the auto reboot in case of a kernel panic is disabled.
